She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the Writers' Guild of Acadiana. She has written the story "At the Mardi Gras Parade," published in U.S. Kids, and the book A Mardi Gras Dictionary, also published by Pelican.

Patrick Soper is an award-winning free-lance illustrator who has done work for major publications and publishers. He is a member of the prestigious Society of Illustrators, based in New York City. He resides in Lafayette, Louisiana. He has also illustrated The Night Thief, Mardi Gras in the Country, and Cajun Folktales for Pelican.
