[dropcap]O[/dropcap]nce you've decided to sell your iPhone back to ePelican, you're going to want to make sure you remove your data so that your personal information doesn't get sent along with it. But you and your iPhone have been through a lot together, and along the way you've gathered up tons of pictures, videos, and text messages - not to mention your ever changing contact list. There's no reason to lose all that data and start over from scratch when you can simply backup data on your iPhone. Lucky for us, Apple has two procedures that allow you to store your data before you delete it.

Backup Data On Your iPhone!

1. iTunes

The flagship media player and library program from Apple lends itself very easily for you to backup data on your iPhone. After opening iTunes on your computer, click on the iTunes logo in the top left hand corner of the screen. From there, click on Preferences and head over to the Devices tab. Under Devices you should see your iPhone's icon, where you can then choose the option of backing it up. If you don't see your iPhone under Devices, you'll want to connect it to your computer and sync with iTunes.

You can also click on the File drop-down menu in the top left hand corner of the screen (next to the iTunes logo) and click Devices followed by Backup.

2. iCloud

The second option that you have to backup data on your iPhone is through Apple's iCloud storage application. This form of backup is through your actual iPhone itself and doesn't require a laptop. You can activate the software by going into Settings and then to iCloud. From there, you can specify what programs and data you'd like to have backed up. Or you can simply go to the bottom of the page and select Storage & Backup.

At this point, you can switch the iCloud Backup toggle to the right and BOOM - your pictures, documents, accounts, and settings will then be backed up.
